announced the completion of a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES project at St. Elizabeth’s Hospice (Hospic sv. Alžběty) in Brno, Czechia. The project brought together around 70 volunteers from PPG’s Shared Services Center in Brno and its Architectural Coatings business across multiple sessions during the summer to revitalize interior spaces and create a more welcoming environment.

PPG provided a grant of $36,000 (750,000 Czech crowns) to support the project, including 160 gallons (600 liters) of PRIMALEX™ paint by PPG. Products used included Primalex Ceramic durable and washable interior coating, which is specifically suited for healthcare environments. The color concept combined clean white surfaces with carefully selected calming shades to promote comfort and well-being for patients and families.

The transformation included three nature-inspired murals designed by Czech artist Anna Herzig (Malba na zeď Česko), featuring natural landscapes and incorporating Secret Safari (PPG1110-4), PPG’s 2026 Color of the Year, as part of the overall palette. Soft and harmonious in daylight yet rich and sophisticated in shadow, the color contributes to a peaceful and emotionally supportive environment.

“A hospice is not only a place of medical care, but also where patients and their families seek comfort, peace and dignity during a difficult stage of life,” said Josef Drbal, director of St. Elizabeth’s Hospice. “The renewed spaces and murals help create a warmer and more welcoming environment. As our population ages and the need for palliative care continues to grow, it is increasingly important to provide these services in surroundings that support quality of life, well-being and human connection.”

St. Elizabeth’s Hospice is the only facility in Brno providing specialized palliative care for adult patients. The organization delivers care and comprehensive support to people living with terminal illnesses.

“It has been inspiring to see PPG colleagues come together to support St. Elizabeth’s Hospice,” said Petter Frisell, PPG director, Shared Services Center, Czechia. “The hospice is located close to our Brno office and holds a special place in our community. We have supported the organization in the past, so reaching out again felt like a natural choice.”

The Colorful Communities program, PPG’s signature initiative for supporting communities, aims to protect and beautify the neighborhoods where PPG operates around the world. Through the program, PPG’s committed volunteers contribute their time and PPG paint products to help transform community assets – from painting classrooms to bringing color to a maternity ward and redesigning a playground. Since 2015, PPG has completed over 635 Colorful Communities projects, impacting more than 10.3 million people in over 50 countries.
